Vorcza Recovers From 9-day Maritime Adventure
Thanks to all the friends and fans in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and
Prince Edward Island who helped make Vorcza's 7th trip to Canada so
much fun.
Starting at the College of the Atlantic in Bar Harbor, Maine and
progressing through Fredericton and St. John, N.B, Charlottetown, PEI,
Antigonish, NS, Halifax, NS and ending with a packed house at the
Manhattan in Moncton, NB, this mini-tour was action-packed from
beginning to end. Highlights included Ray's attempt to burn up our
campground in Fundy National Park, the improvisation workshop we did
with the jazz students at ST FX University in Antigonish, Nova Scotia,
our shared evening with Bootiejuice at the Attic in Halifax and, of
course, the Monctonian experience. Thanks again Canada!

"VORCZA TO APPEAR AT THE SPACE IN PORTLAND ON AUGUST 25."
On Thursday, August 25 Vorcza will appear for their third performance
at the Space, in downtown Portland, Maine. This is the venue where
Portland Phoenix columnist Caitlin Shetterly heard the band and later
described them as "one of the most lusty, sultry blends of jazz funk I
have ever heard". She went on to write "these three guys give new
meaning to the sensuality of jazz. Listening to them, watching them
exhaustively stick with a tune until it reached its climax could make
you think of only the most dedicated of lovers. One of the guys in the
band milks cows for a living. Now thatís sexy". Well, Ray no longer
practices animal husbandry but we hope the music will still turn on
members of the press. Come see for yourself what the commotion is all
about at Portland's hippest music spot slash gallery slash watering
hole. The Space is located at 538 Congress and the telephone number is
(207) 828-5600.

"VORCZA TO APPEAR AT EVOLVE FESTIVAL IN NOVA SCOTIA, CANADA ON AUGUST 26".
For the second year in a row, Vorcza is scheduled to play at the Evolve
Festival, one of the great North American music festivals, held in
beautiful Antigonish, Nova Scotia. This year's lineup includes artists
like the Jungle Brothers, the Steve Kimock Band and Surprise Me Mr.
Davis (the Slip plus Nathan Moore), not to mention some incredible
Canadian groups like Stephen Frank and Noises from the Toolshed, the
Wassabi Collective and a host of others. Last year Ray and Rob played
Evolve with guest drummer Conor Elmes (of Bootiejuice and the Jen
Hartswick Band fame) while Gabe toured in Europe with trombonist Josh
Roseman's Unit. That experience proved to be truly memorable for all
involved and the band is excited to be headed back to Evolve. Check
www.evolvefestival.com for news and info.
